Packing Tips

Use boxes to take full advantage of the room. Store items you'll need most often at the front of the unit. Store heavier items on the bottom and lighter items on top. Pack each box full but never overpack boxes. Overfilled boxes won’t close or stack properly and you still have to lift them!! Label all boxes clearly.

Fabric goods
Curtains, clothes etc. should be washed and dried prior to packing

Books
Pack them flat, not standing on end (which may cause damage to the spines). Books are extremely heavy, so don't pack too many in one box or mix them with fragile items.

Lawn Mowers
Drain fuel and oil from all small engines.

Mirrors and Pictures
Large objects should be stored in specially designed boxes. Smaller pictures can be wrapped in bubble wrap or packing paper and stored in boxes with clothing or linens.

Photos
To prevent photographs curling, keep them flat, place them between two pieces of cardboard and tape them together or in between something flat.
